Job alert! Join our team: Part-Time Team Assistant

Location: Remote, with the ability to travel to London or the surrounding area for occasional face-to-face meetings.

Help us make a difference

Hostage International is recruiting. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and enthusiastic Team Assistant to join our small, dedicated team.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in a charity that makes a real difference to the lives of people affected by kidnapping and arbitrary detention overseas. You will help ensure the smooth running of our organisation by providing high-quality administrative and organisational support, enabling our team to focus on delivering vital support to those who need it.

About Hostage International

Hostage International supports people and families affected by kidnapping or arbitrary detention outside their home country. We offer compassionate, practical and emotional support to help people navigate the day-to-day challenges and lasting impact of these traumatic experiences.

We are a small, specialist charity with a big commitment to making a difference. Our UK-based team comprises a full-time Chief Executive Officer, a part-time Communications and Engagement Manager and a part-time Case Manager. We work remotely, coming together occasionally for face-to-face meetings in or near London.

We have also recently established a not-for-profit organisation in Germany, Hostage International (Europe), supported by a part-time Country Manager.

About the role

As Team Assistant, you will help maintain and develop the high standard of administrative support that underpins our work. You will be an important part of the team, helping us stay organised, connected and effective.

Working remotely, you will liaise with colleagues across the organisation and provide practical support to help ensure our day-to-day operations run smoothly.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys being organised, takes pride in delivering excellent administrative support and would like to contribute to the work of a small charity with a meaningful purpose.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

Hostage International is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive organisation where equality is valued and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy or maternity, nationality, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law.

We believe that the right mix of talent, skills and potential strengthens our organisation. All applications will be welcomed, and selection will be based on individual merit alone.
