World Book Day competition winners announced
To celebrate #WorldBookDay on 4 March 2021, authors Terry Waite CBE and Colin Freeman donated a copy of their latest books to give away, each with the offer of a personalised message from the author.
The draw took place on 31 March, seeing Alicia from Bedfordshire, winning Colin Freeman’s book, and Julie from Cumbria winning Terry Waite’s book.
Alicia said: “Thank you so much for my prize which I was really happy to receive in the post. I really look forward to reading this moving story. As a former police hostage negotiator I recognise the importance of a charity such as Hostage International in the work they do in very difficult and challenging situations and fully support the work that it continues to do behind the scenes.”
Tales of Tommy Twitchnose by Terry Waite CBE
Our patron and co-founder, Terry Waite CBE, has recently turned his hand to writing a children’s book and has donated a copy of Tales of Tommy Twitchnose. This is a beautiful book about a mouse, Tommy Twitchnose, who lives in a cosy little house under the floorboards in a converted barn in the village of Cheesethorpe.
Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by Colin Freeman
Colin Freeman is a keen supporter of Hostage International and his latest book Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea releases on 11 March. The book is a true story of a retired British army officer’s private Somali-hostage rescue mission.
